Ph.D. Student in Electrical and Computer Engineering

Email: tzheng8@jhu.edu

I’m a third year Ph.D. student in ECE department at Johns Hopkins University. Prior to joining JHU in 2018, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Automation from Harbin Institute of Technology, China. During my undergraduate years, I participated the one-year exchange program in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at University of California, Berkeley in 2016. From 2017 to 2018, I joined Prof.  Ming Guo’s lab at Massachusetts Institute of Technology as an undergraduate research assistant.

I spent the first two years studying foundations of control theory, optimization and statistics, taking courses including Networked Dynamical Systems, Robust Control, Nonlinear Control, Optimal Control, Nonlinear Optimization, Statistics, Matrix Analysis, Differential Geometry and Riemannian Geometry. Currently, my research interest includes optimization, control and reinforcement learning.
